División del Norte, esquina con Miguel Laurent S/N, Delegación Benito Juárez, México D.F.Mapa en GoogleMaps.En el año de 1991 se presentó uno de los eclipses solares más importantes del siglo, el cual se observó a lo largo de casi todo el territorio nacional. Impulsado por atender a todo el público interesado, la SAM, la delegación Benito Juárez y el Gobierno del Distrito Federal construyeron los edificios en la sede Parque Francisco Villa (conocido como el Parque de los Venados)con el objetivo de dar servicio al gran evento así como crear un espacio para la divulgación científica, en especial, la Astronomía.
